Who or what has inspired you?

One individual who has inspired me throughout my life is Nelson Mandela. He states, "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."

What does racial equity and social justice mean to you?

Racial equity means giving people what they need to enjoy full, healthy lives, regardless of race.  Social justice can’t be achieved without these four principles: human rights, access, participation, and equity.

What is your favorite book, poetry, documentary or other resource on Black history?

I Am Not Your Negro,  a 2016 James Baldwin documentary.

When I dream in Black...

I think of all my heroes, mentors, friends and family who have helped shape my heritage and view of the world. They set me on my path, inspiring me to be the best and driving me to give back relentlessly as a mentor and humbly serve as a leader.
