President Deborah Jackson was the featured speaker at a Women’s Network Breakfast hosted by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce (GBCC). The event took place at the Intercontinental Hotel where close to 300 guests attended to hear the fireside chat led by Radio Boston host, Tiziana Dearing and President Jackson on the topic of “Breaking Down Barriers in Education.” Deborah discussed creating better pipelines to employment after graduation, seeing higher education as a social justice imperative, as well as her ongoing commitment to diversity.

Academy of Distinguished Bostonians

Earlier this year, at the 2019 GBCC’s Annual Meeting, themed Women in Business: All In, President Jackson was one of three people inducted into the Chamber’s Academy of Distinguished Bostonians. The honor recognizes leaders who have not only demonstrated an exemplary career of outstanding leadership within their organizations and their industries, but who have also been committed throughout their careers to making Greater Boston the best place for people and businesses to thrive.

“I am honored to receive this award from the Chamber and to join the ranks of the many Boston leaders who I admire and who have been my role models over the years. At Cambridge College our mission has always been to open doors for those who have not had equal access. The Chamber’s work with advancing women and most recently minority businesses is so aligned with our values and it makes this award especially meaningful for me,” said Jackson.
