I have high standards, which push students to strive for their best. Fostering a culture of classroom respect, I encourage student participation through in-class discussions, group work, and individual assignments. I believe that a collaborative learning environment is essential to the education of every student. I urge students to explore their inquisitive nature, and to learn from one another. Through anecdotal lessons, students are encouraged to share their stories and experiences. I have an expectation that every student will contribute to the learning of their peers, as well as to my own education. Having an open floor policy promotes respect and openness of ideas, builds the confidence of my students, and allows for a collaborative learning environment. I serve my students through the use of humor, fostering respect, and creating an open learning environment. By expecting the best of my students and myself, I deliver a quality learning experience to all of my students.
