Mathematics education, research, assessment, and educational technology
Dr. Rubino coordinated the formation of a Cambridge College Collaborative Project with the Framingham Public Schools to provide its public school Elementary and Middle School mathematics teachers with graduate level mathematics courses to earn a Mathematics Specialist Certificate from the College. Similar programs are being discussed for selected other public school systems. He has worked closely with the college development office and selected college staff members to plan major community oriented grants and programs at the college, related to mathematics education. Several examples are: 1) “Success in Mathematics, Counting on the Community” ($1.7 million); 2) “Hewlett Packard and Technology for Teaching;” 3) “Enablearning Project;” and 4) Roxbury Charter School Professional Development Project.
